Our wonderfully soft cashmere is combed by hand by the nomads of the Mongolian steppe and produced in an exclusively small family business. We place great importance on a fair and sustainable production, in which both animals and people are equally respected.


Our cashmere goats live in the wild and are lovingly cared for by the nomads. The goats are carefully combed only once a year to obtain the precious undercoat.

WHY CASHMERE?

The advantages of cashmere are unparalleled. The most precious wool in the world is characterised by its unique fibre properties.


In addition to its indescribably soft touch to the skin, cashmere insulates three times better than normal wool, ensuring optimal thermal insulation despite the ultra-fine fibers and keeping you cozy and warm even on cold winter days. Yet it also works the other way around and the fine air chambers in the fibers also prevent external heat from penetrating, which has a cooling effect in summer.


Cashmere is also hygroscopic, which means that it can absorb and wick away moisture to keep you feeling dry and comfortable.


Cashmere also has a natural self-cleaning ability because the fine, smooth fibers absorb less dirt and odors due to their structure.

RARITY AND QUALITY

WHY DOES CASHMERE COST MORE?

These fiber properties contribute greatly to the fact that the fine wool deserves the title of the most precious wool in the world .


However, cashmere production is limited. Only between 150-200 grams can be collected per goat per year by carefully combing out the fibers by hand. One of our cashmere pieces usually weighs between 400-900 grams. Little wonder that pure cashmere costs about 15 times more than normal wool on the world market .


Precisely this rarity and quality make products made from pure cashmere something very special.

We are all part of nature. No nomad opposes nature, they see themselves as part of nature, they are serving, receiving and giving. I was even allowed to comb out the precious cashmere myself. It was beautiful to feel how much peace and unity there was being amongst the goats. They are used to it from an early age on as babies. For each individual goat, it takes about one to two hours to brush out the fine hair by hand. It is the undercoat that keeps them warm in winter and falls out naturally in spring. A bit like with our beloved four-legged friends, the dogs.

THE NOMADS

This vastness. A feeling of wonder and humility. The nomads live with their animals where the eye can barely reach the horizon, the nearest town is far far away, no roads, simply nothing, just this vastness. Even for us, living in a tent surrounded by nature, this life is harsh and hard to imagine. Only after experiencing it ourselves we have gained a greater understandning. In winter temperatures can reach up to minus 35-50 degrees and in summer it's the exact opposite. I feel the calm. The simplicity. The contentment and pride in their animals. Animals and people who form one unit. Because one needs the other to survive.
